Constant dripping wears away the stone

All of my 17 years, I've heard my mother declare, "Constant dripping wears away the stone." She's a person of powerful perseverance. It's this very inspiration that keeps me going on days when I wonder if can I make a difference. I want everyone to help, to buy shirts, to embrace the difference they can make for others, and my patience can run thin. That said, with your help, I've been able to generate several thousand dollars for causes that matter to making the world better. One person, one dollar at a time, these contributions do matter. These organizations toil daily to help young people have a better life. One rescues people from a horrible, violent, psychologically and physically abusive life; the other teaches youth to have confidence, to believe in themselves even in the worst of home situations. In the end, they both inspire confidence and faith in oneself. And when we feel good about who we are, when we feel stronger; when we have confidence that we can prevail, we do. That is what constant dripping wears away the stone is all about. It may take months, years, decades, but one drip at a time creates a new path and a new way for all of us. Some days when I want life to move faster, change to happen more dramatically, I can get frustrated. This saying helps ground me so I stay focused on the end goal. The next time you envision change for yourself, no matter what it is, don't let the set backs or disappointments drag you down. Remember, a constant drip will change your life. It will change others. The edges of life will be smoothed or a new channel for water will be carved. It won't be done in a microwave minute, but, if you keep your chin up and keep focused and keep the faith, it will happen. I hope this saying helps you!
